Is it common for scores to jump up and down by a few hundred even if core settings aren't changed?

Not normally, if the settings are unchanged you may get a difference of 20 or 30 points.

Just a guess but if you are getting a very big variation in scores for the same settings, have a look at your temps/cooling.

I'm using Precision to monitor temps and power useage during benchmarks and they seem to be pretty consistent every time... weird. I'll set things to default later and have a dabble about to try and determine the problem.

+143 Core + 333 Memory

CPU 3930K @ 4.625

Done fairly this time :D

Edit:

I set those clocks but when I came out, I noticed the Core had boosted to 1143Mhz but memory was the same. Just giving the info of what is what :)

So two titans overclocked are nearly double the performance of a stock 690 in this test ( 120.4 vs 64.6)? That's not bad at all.

Cant you just get 2 x 690s? wouldn't it be cheaper and faster?

edit - looks like it is - 1. Score 3520, GPU 690 x 2, @1066/1800, CPU 3960X @4.9, Kaapstad

edit 2 - scratch that, the cheapest 690 is £800
