Anyone lucky enough to get onto the Alpha/Beta program.

I have a friend in my guild who has a friend who works for Bliizard and he has given me an to the Alpha and Beta testing.

Currently it is installing the client, downloading at 450kb/s.

Going to work now but looking forward to getting home tonight when it should all be installed ready to go.

I'm not entirely sure if I want to get into the beta or not!

On the one hand, you get to see all the new stuff sooner rather than later.
On the other, you'll be creating a new goblin/worgen for the beta, and then when the full release is out you'll be playing the whole thing again, pretty much the same.
 
I wonder if its the Alpha build thats just the landscape with no npcs or objects.

If so, then it crashes if you attempt to enter the world with Goblins or Worgens and any of the new class combo types.

Not interested personally. Enjoyed EVE and WoW original release Beta, but don't think I'd be bothered about Beta'ing an expansions, due wanting to play when it's all done and not have any problems. Also having to replay it when it goes live, but having said that we re-do it anyway when we roll alts.

Blizzard are aware of every Alpha user and there full details of the customer base, you cannot "pass on" a Alpha/Beta to someone else. Blizzard enable it all.

wanted to sign up for this myself, but battlenet doesn't appear to be working properly today :(

Only got into wow recently. Started account about 9 months ago used it for about 2 months and then froze it for over 6. Reactivated it the other day and have now levelled to 65. Slowly but surely getting a little bit better at the game too which is nice as i was rubbish to start with!

I don't use any add ons or anything but wouldn't mind giving the beta a go! Love testing new things!

I only have about 3 months playing time on WOTLK so I'm only just hitting my stride on both my chars with that so can't say I'm that eager to play beta just yet. Still hoping they do "freshen" the look of it.

I *THINK* You can with the beta's, at least with the WOTLK beta you could.

I saw tons of people buying their beta keys from ebay, and some were going at silly prices.
