Was pretty much just wondering which was better.

My current rig is a;

3200 939
2gb geil
x1800gto
msi rd480
and a 420watt tagan psu.

So will both graphics cards run ok with the psu. And also, i mainly play css so and want 100fps constant, will i get it from the above rig?

Just noticed you have a 420, go for the GTS youll manage it with that PSU id say, much easier than you would with the 2900 anyway, as for the Soprano i don't know sorry.

I would not risk running a HD2900XT on that PSU, if I were you I would be worrying all the time wondering when my system wont boot anymore or randomly shuts off to never turn abck on again.

Agree with the above, i certainly wouldn't risk the 2900 on that PSU, it sucks a whole lot more power than the 8800 GTX, the GTS would be the safer option, and that and the 2900 are both great cards, so its not like your losing anything by going for one over the other.

so now all its down to is whether or not i get the 200 poond bonus this month. ^_^

both of those seem like overkill for a 3200+ CPU and CSS.

A x1950 pro or some used 7-series from the MM would be a better choice, IMO.

Thats a point, 3200+ will be a big bottleneck on those cards, so as above, x1950pro or even an x1950 XT, and i suppose with the saving you could get a faster CPU as well.

I dont think its worth upgrading anything on a SKT939 platform tbh.

its a good point and i understand there will be a bottle neck, but im planning an upgrade anyways and my fps is doing my head in Rawr...
