I currently have an Asrock Ext 4 Gen 3 mobo which has the sound gone. I am going to RMA the board but want to put that board/2500K and Ram into my wifes computer and make a big upgrade to my computer.

I currently have 2 680's (one reference EVGA and one MSI Lightning) and noise is a bit of a bugger to be honest as late at night, I like to play with the sound down (no headphones) but 2 680's are fairly noisy with a decent OC. I have never done water cooling, so is it wise to go with that kit and will I need a bigger radiator for 2 680's? I will be buying the new spec in a couple of weeks, so need to make sure everything is good.

I've never touched water cooling before so dont really have anything constructive to say.

i'm just posting to ask you to post some pictures when you've finished. would love to see that rig all up and running.

I am a fan of Asrock if you hadn't noticed but I am open to other suggestions.

I would wait mate honestly and have a look at IB-E or Haswell.

As you're probably not going to be going tri-SLI (due to 2GB) I would say X79 is not the way to go.

But that's just me :).

The Pee off for me is having to RMA my mobo and knowing it could take weeks to get it back has made my mind up. I should wait I know but feel this is not such a good option. Even when haswell comes out, I don't mind upgrading again.

You have seen how big that case is I hope as its BIG? :D

You also could get a 3820 and still get the benefit of the 79 platform and save a few quid(as you'd say for the PUB ):)

Jealous as no blocks for my cards yet.

Looks good so far (with my limited experience)

Not to put a downer on it ,

Is it worth it for 2Gb cards?

I mean the X79 not the watercooling

lol I know what you are saying but my mind is made up for an upgrade. I hadn't considered the 3820 tbh but I am happy to spend or should say been given permission to spend £1500 so this is in my budget.
