Officially launched now, with quite a few OcUK members playing on Starfall

The game has a cross dungeon feature so even if your on a different server you can still add players to friends list and run them together..

Blade & Soul !! it's been out for over 4years now and a western release is still nowhere in sight, however you can play the full game for free without any need for a proxy and a simple install !! > US/UK website <

Maybe some of you would like to try it out so I've done some brief instructions below and included some link + a how to video.

Whats Blade & Soul ? why should I care ? take a look...


It's your typical Korean themed MMo with great combat, fantastic locations and amazing graphics. It also does not need a monster PC to run it maxed out.

You can play the Korean version but believe me it's not easy nor worth the hassle, but you can install the Chinese (censored) version for free.

HOW DO I PLAY IT !!? ---> open the spoiler tabs and go for it ! Remember, your playing on Chinese servers so don't expect a low ping OR simply wait for it to release over here !! if it ever comes :(

Firstly, you need to make an account > QQsignup < use a real email address, everything else can be otherwise. You need to verify the account and make a note of the QQ account number as this will be used to sign into the game. Use Passport verification option which just needs *cough* 9 numbers.

Secondly, download the game > Blade & Soul Client China <

The download is surprisingly quick but obviously depends on your connection.

You will need to change your system locale settings to Chinese via Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Administrative -> Change system locale.

You want to change this to Chinese (Simplified, PRC). *IF YOU DON'T DO THIS BEFORE PLAYING YOU WILL NEED TO RE-INSTALL THE CLIENT AGAIN*

*Do not post screenshots with it on as it does break the ToS and may get your account banned*

Have been waiting for this to get its Western release for at least 3 years now.

Don't understand why its taking so long. I did try the Chinese version, via thproxys etc, e ping was a killer when in combat, so gave up...lol..and oh yeh, i am more of a social gamer, so not being able to talk to many ppl was also a problem.

No-one actually knows for sure, but I'm no longer waiting around for it :p

So far the game is very playable, I've even managed to beat a few gankers with various classes and the combat is brilliant.

Yes, download the client > before running change local to Chinese simplified or it knackers it apparently.

I booted up the game before applying the English patch , just to make sure It worked.

Yeah that's cringe worthy mate but it's not 'the' game. You have to understand the culture over there is a lot different :eek:

Well I hope you manage to get it working without too much hassle. It's best to just grab the client whilst you decipher my cryptic install instructions :D.

Watch that video link as it really does outline how to get it working and GL!
 
The game looks quite good, might download it if/when I have time :D

Reminds me a bit of TERA ?
Quite like the look of the classes, seems like it could be a nice change to play

Shy of 17gig installed.

The combat is a mix of directional aiming with combo's and situational skills so if Tera did it for you this should also, plus it's free !
 
I really wanted this and watched the website with a passion for how it would be when done. I'm tempted to try this work around
