I only have corded handsets. The noise is best described as white noise. If I turn the modem off it makes a chewww powering down sound then the line is silent. I can hear the modem doing its thing through the phone when it makes a new connection too.
The thing is that I've now tried my old router and I hear the router also trying to connect so it isn't the sky router being faulty. I think there may now be something wrong with the line since it wasn't like this before I switched to LLU.
