10 mins in Andriod is a total failure :/

Why to manufactuers bother to create their own "style"? Most just look naff.

Can't they just come with Launcherpro by default, and pay the dev royalties? :D

I'm quite happy with the Desire's default system: I've customised some bits and bobs but haven't felt the need or whim to root yet; though such opportunities await me when I do :)

Yeh Sense isn't bad, I like the Facebook contact integration. Visually, prefer launcherpro though, and no rooting required!

You 100% sure the stock browser doesn't have pinch zoom (hope you remembered it's pinch to zoom out ;) )? Really thought it did when i had a play a week ago. The defy is a hardened phone that's got more resistance to the elements than most ie a bit more waterproof, a bit more shockproof and while this comes as a tradeoff in some areas, to others this is the perfect phone if you tend to drop them every now and then.

OP unfortunately you sound like a bit of an apple fanboy, this might of been unintentional but your wording hasnt been the best here...obviously you were annoyed but still.

i had 3 (yes 3) iphones until i switch to android (desire) and love it, its so much better in every way.
i recently got an ipad and it made me realize just how bad the ios is at everything.
if anything your accusations that android is from the apple bin is laughable....android is vastly superior in everyway to ios and is getting better and better with every release.

i cant speak for the handset in questions iv never tried it, but you cant really compare a midrange smartphone (defy) to a highend-one. (desire/iphone)

im glad to see your sorting it out, its worth sticking with (maybe get a handset change if you can?)

Well, about a week ago I sold my 3GS and bought a Defy. I wasn't entirely sure if it was the right thing to do but in hindsight, I need not have worried.

The OS has come on massively (my last android was a G1 on 1.6) and the overall feel once Launcher Pro was installed was far superior and more satisfying than my iPhone. Screen quality too is at least it's equal and the form factor is more appealing to me.

Oh, and the stock browser does have pinch to zoom - I've just checked.

Yep, sense is well thought out and getting smoother with each update. I never felt the need to install stock android either.

Just for comparison... here's the number of processes currently running on my Defy/Desire.

MotoBlur = 52

SenseUI = 25

I think that tells the whole story...

Good thing we've got a Clockwork MOD recovery now, deblured ROM + stock 2.2 can't be far off :)

I am really enjoying my SF with 2.2 on it.

Orange gimped it with their junk, now it has android on it how it should have been from the start :)

If the phone has a screen protector on it, then it might be worth you taking it off and trying the keyboard again.

I has the same issue on my Pulse. As soon as the protector was removed it felt 10 times better.

Devils advocate here: My iphone has a screen cover, my android x10 doesn't. My iphone is more accurate and more responsive than the android.

I'm more than open to abusing the hardware rather than the software though :p

The x10 isn't known for its responsive hardware or software though. The Desire/GalaxyS/DHD etc are all highly accurate typing devices with little room for errors.

The X10 is just a bad 'high end' phone full stop to be honest. It is all too often the main phone being dragged into 'Android sucks' discussions.
