£1000 - CPU/RAM/Mobo Upgrade

Hi,

I want some advice regarding upgrading my system that currently has i5-2500k and 8GB DDR3, I already have a GTX1080 as my GPU.

I would be mainly using for gaming and VR but I would something beefy and future-proof that could handle anything I throw at it.

Zen 2 seems interesting, should I wait for that?

144hz 1440p, £1000 budget.

yeah, you'll be fine with ryzen 3600x to be honest, 3700x if it overclocks well and will have a bit of a longer life span.

at 1440p.... might have a look at selling your gtx 1080 for 2080
