Morning all,

Just back from a ride in the sun and bike wash and I noticed my rear brake had been rubbing on the tire slightly.

Is there anyway to adjust the drop at all? I got a 2nd hand set off ebay, standard clearance I think but the pads are right at the bottom of the slot and it's not quite enough :(

Suggestions would be great!

Thank you

If you're at the bottom of the slot then that's as far as you can go.

You might need a 57mm drop caliper, standard is 49mm

what about if I just filed the slot out 2/3mm.......

The bike is a GT GTS Expert, it came with standard tekro dual pivot, slightly longer i guess :(

Takes mudgaurds so I guess that's why frame needs 57mm?

mudguards are exactly why it requires a longer caliper.

you might get away with filing 1mm, but i'd be sketchy about going any further
