I know we have some veggie burners on here.

I have a 106 diesel, its a 1.5 non turbo diesel that does silly MPG, I got it beause I now have 9 points, and need as much money as possible to fund my bike racing so I can put up with a boring car for now if it means I can race my bike :D I dont do all that many miles most of the time, just a 20 mile commute, and getting about, but every little helps, racing is expensive hobby!

I presume with the old 1.5 non turbo diesel engine, it would be ripe for running on veg oil, do I have to mix with diesel? Whats the score on it, can I just pour new stuff, or old filtered stuff straight in? (would probably just buy the suff new in drums).

Do I need to modify anything, or is there any expensive to fix side affects? (other than smelling like a chip shop)...

If the 106 has the Lucas CAV pump (I think it does) then running straight vegetable oil is not recommended. You may be able to run a mix of diesel and vegetable oil though.

hmmm, pretty pointless then really, for the miles I do it wouldn't save me much at all.

2 things. 1) If it has a Lucas pump you can run some veggie, but no more than 30% veggie oil

2) Its not legal yet to run veggie without paying the tax. Be aware.
