106's are they damn speedy or is it just me?

It could easily be an airfield.
Bear in mind Heathrow is what.....maybe 4 miles end to end in total? We're talking one mother of an airfield surely?
Hahaha, no the OP is just full of crap I think. Proof or shut up.

If you produce proof of this mystery 3 mile drag strip then I will apologise profusely. ;)

Let me get this right.... You have rich friends?

Presumably, your rich friend was in the corsa right? a 1.2 corsa?

if not then a doubt your Rich Friend/his Family would let you and a mate on his Private dragstrip :p

Great thread :D

Seeing as your 1.1 106 is such a supercar, maybe you could try racing on this "private road" against a car owned by your "rich friends", if you beat this 1.2 Corsa "litrally by like half a mile maybe more", then you should have no problems beating cars owned by your "rich friends"

A 14 year old car weighs a lot less as there is a lot less safety stuff in the car and alos less electrical stuff and if you double the weight you need four times the power to be just as fast.

Right so to equal a 60bhp 800kg car in terms of performance, you need 240bhp if the car weighs 1600kg?

Erm, no way - that would suggest a 60bhp 1.1 106 is 'just as fast' as a 240bhp 1600kg 530i ;)

Think you'll find it does tbh ;) :D

Those 106 1.1s are very nippy, but then racing a corsa 1.2 is kinda like a snail going up hill racing a snail going downhill.

106s do have dynamic mass adjustment properties though, albeit the faster you go the more bits that fall off it, thus increasing your BHP/Tonne allowing you to reach a higher terminal velocity.

I heard that DMA was a feature only on Mondeos tbh! ;)

As opposed to Rover's patented Dynamic Mass Re-alignment (DMR), whereby at high speeds bits of the interior fall off and end up in the back seats, thus increasing rear grip in high speed corners.
