I suggest different case due to limited airflow. Don’t buy QVO ssds as there often slower than HDD. Also suggest a z490 over a b460 as I assume you’ll be overclocking that cpu with it being a k series so you’ll want some beefy vrms. Lastly I suggest 3200mhz ram over 2666 as there normally the same price if not cheaper

If you want to run at stock, the stock memory speed of 10th gen is now 2933.

I wouldn't use a QLC drive for a system drive, but it's okay for games or archive storage.

If you're not overclocking, the 10700 can be had for £60 less and can be set to run faster by adjusting the power limits according to TPU.

Thanks, what sort of case would you recommend? I quite like the Corsair stuff and have a 700d myself.

I nearly went 10700K. But changed to 10600K. There just wasn't enough difference to justify the additional cost. This gen i5 has 6 cores with HT, in case you've dismissed i5 based on previous gens with no HT and less cores.

You can get a 1TB NVMe M.2 drive for the same price or less.

B460 with a K chip?

Get faster RAM (at C16 or below) to go with your better board, lower latency for your production needs.

What music production software are you using with the machine, and is that the only use for the machine?
