1080 27" for under £200

Looking for a upgrade from my AOC G2460PQU 24" Widescreen 144Hz 1ms Gaming LED Monitor - Gunmetal , gonna use old one for 2nd monitor

got a spending limit of under £200 for a 27" 1080 monitor for my gtx 970

any recommendations?

Well, you have a problem in that I am not seeing any 144Hz monitors at that size and resolution at your price point. Assuming you don't want to give up that 144Hz. If you do, there are a few half decent choices, but nothing amazing.

I'd suggest you save up some more money. Also, I would not personally recommend 27" 1080p, you will notice the reduction in sharpness coming from 24".

It's OK, but I don't think you'd notice a big improvement over what you've got to be honest... more of sidegrade than an upgrade, but if you're OK with that then it's fine.

Well that one is fine, nothing wrong with it really. Bottom line is that you're not going to get anything amazing for £200.

if you want a 27" screen thats not 144hz then this one seems like a good one

however unless your 970 is struggling with 144hz then theres no reason to replace it as the main screen, so how about a matching screen size, but lesser model to fit within budget? something like this maybe:
