10k budget car ideas?

So after my Astra being a dick I will be replacing it. Something up to around 10k. I have thought about a mondeo, 2.0 tdci around 2017 or so
Skoda or vw Passat gets a mention too

prefer 2.0 diesel and around 3/4 year old. Any suggestions ? I’m not tied to any brand.

The best VAG 2.0TDI you can get. Really doesn’t matter whether it’s Audi, VW, SEAT or Skoda. Whatever floats your boat.

Can you live with SEAT or Skoda plastics?

Well that one is 8 grand or just over with some haggling so not really the full budget,

Octavia seems a good bet. Lots of autos, good 2.0tdi engine, nice spec and great practicality. Loads about on approved used as well.

I'd probably opt for a Mazda 6 given your requirements and live with the fact that it will be a year or so older than an equivalent priced Mondeo. Octavia and Mondeo are good options too though.

I'd go Mazda 6 or Octavia given your requirements, that's what i'd be looking at if in the same position anyway!

Judging by how the Mazda RX8, Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 have rotted to hell over the past 15 years, I'd never touch a Mazda now I'm afraid. I'd play safe and go Mondeo, cheap to run, and the undersides don't rot like Mazda do now. Not sure of running costs of Octavia's assuming VW prices?
