Hi Folks,

I am looking for a small laptop/ netbook that can be easily used with a dock. I don't want a full sized 15" laptop and think a 13" would be ok. It would only be used for browsing, no games etc.

The reason I want a dock is because if I am sitting at my desk I'd want to use a full size keyboard and a mouse. I also have a printer, a 24" monitor and an external hard drive that I'd like to utilies. Rather than have to plug all these into the laptop/ netbook every time I am at my desk I would like them all to be connected to a dock so I can just dock the laptop and have instant access to all of these peripherals.

What can you suggest?

The dell 13" laptops with the backlit keyboard look nice. If money is no issue then a 13" macbook pro would let you browse in style!

@lazer46 - You can get general docks such as the zalman nc2000 (which is a cooling pad/dock) or model specific docks...just depends whcih laptop you go with. In my own experience any vaio accessories cost an absolute fortune...so i'd be wary of getting a sony.

Dell Latitude E4300, my work one is excellent and the docking station does it's job nicely and wasn't as I recall too expensive. It's a business orientated laptop but it's very good indeed. Starts at about £900 I think these days, easy to spec up unfortunately and mine cost about £2500 but hey - I didn't pay!

Do they have docks though, I know the macbook doesn't but does the dell?
