Good day Chaps

So i'm returning to the UK in the middle of June, I'm happy to buy it and have it delivered before i get back but i'm a bit unsure about the build, I've built two computers in the past so im comfortable with making my own.

I have a razor kraken headset and Windows 7 but i will need everything else

I don't plan on overclocking. I also thought about getting TV instead of a monitor but i don't really know how viable that is especially with the size of the TV possibly causing eye strain

I had a look at http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18601493 which had a lot of good ideas but a lot of the items prices has changed and some are missing

Any help would be appreciated =)

Jamie

Thanks for the build, just need to speak to whoever is gonna accept the delivery before i will order. Would be a nice present to come home to. Gotta remember not to try set it up with crazy jet lag! lol

Here is the second course, monsieur.

If you don't plan on OC'ing, have a look at the H97 motherboards as some are interesting. This one has a better audio codec compared to some Z97 mobos of the same price point, as well as M.2 and SATA Express for any future needs in that department. You won't really require an aftermarket cooler either with a locked Intel CPU.

Never played with that monitor but it's one I'd like to try or buy.

If you might add a second GPU in future, grab a good 850W PSU instead.

Storage-wise, you could alternatively kick off with a single 250GB SSD rather than a 120GB SSD + 1TB HDD.

Thanks for your input Danny, monitor looks nice but out of stock atm

Yeah i dont plan on overclocking so i'll have a look at your suggestion

You're welcome. Actually just had a look at LG's website and the monitor has 2 x 3W speakers. Integrated speakers on monitor (whichever you go for) are something to consider, as you have a good headset for occasions which require quality sound anyway. And the money for speakers could be spent elsewhere.

All the best.

I would advise going down the 'K' cpu route even if you don't plan on overclocking at the moment. It is always nice to have the option later on.

If you look at the price of the i5 4690 and H97 board it works out cheaper than the i5 4670K and Z97 board by £39, but you get a Free headset with the Z97 board which is worth £32.99 so it pretty much evens out the price difference. You could have course get a Z97 board for around £85 which makes it even more of a no brainer.

Cool guys, thanks for the input

as of now.."Thank you for your order with Overclockers UK, Mr Jamie"

Total inc Vat: £1,198.42 not to bad with a budget of £1200
