Hi all,

I posted last week for a spec check but since then I have had a job promotion so I am now able to increase my budget by quite a lot :)

Ideally I would like to spend no more than £1100 but I can stetch my budget to £1200.

£46.99

OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - OEM -

Samsung SM-223BW 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black - £187.99

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "LGA775 Kentsfield" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - £172.71

Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-520HXUK) -£68.14

Total : £1,171.26

I want a system that is well cooled and will OC well but is it possible to get a 22" monitor, 8800 GTX, Vista and Q6600 for £1100 or less?

I would definetly make sure you get the "Energy Efficient Edition" version of the Q6600 even if it is £9 more, as you get a higher overclock from those due to much lower heat. Unless you take a hit on some bits however you'll not be able to get it under £1,100 for everything you want. If you took a hit on some of the parts, then you may be able to such as:

But for what you're asking, I would recommend if you can spending that extra £100 but it just gives you that little bit more freedom to get better parts and upgrade them slightly with better things. Such as a better, and more quieter cooler that will produce a higher overclock.
