managed to clock my i5 to 4.2ghz on the intel cpu cooler....

idle 42 across the board and load goes up to 73 when benching.

cant what till the new adapters are sent out so we can fit after market coolers i can see real potenital in these chips.

Not that bad? If I run GTA for 5 mins on an unclocked chip the temp hits 83c, so until I get a cooler it's no good for gaming

...I'll await the pictures you speak of. That is quite a claim. And awesome, too.

yeah well gets a tad hot when doing prime 95 3 mins in i got scared at 84C lol... its managed all the benchmarking software with out going over 72C

oh well at least i can play games on the stock cooler at 4.2ghz so we will see what happens when i get may cooler on there.

The stock Intel cooler is utter rubbish, it was even smaller and even less effective than I was expecting it to be, and I hadn't got particularly high hopes for it in the first place.

Your temperatures look pretty good for a stock cooler, infact almost unbelievable at 4.2GHz really, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt as I have no good reason not to.

Is that picture 'really' showing all the airflow you had on it, or did you have a 20" desk-fan aimed at the open side of the case or something ?

with the the cosmos s case just above the board and heat sink there is 3 x 120mm fans sucking the hot air from the heat sink up and out the top of the case.

but yes at the moment i only have the original intel cooler fan and 1 x 120mm fan above that as in the photo pushing air onto the heat sink itself.

i just cant what to see what happens when everyone gets there 1156 adapters we are gonna see some good results:D

just as a side not i did not use the oc geine for the overclock as that dose make the cpu run a lot hotter at 3.58ghz than my bios 4.2 ghz settings.

but to be honest i only changed the fsb in the bios everything else was left as standard/auto

I just reseated my cooler and it seems one of the legs wasn't quite clippped down enough to the board. Now after running GTA 4 for 20 mins the temp is fluctuating between 53-58c, but I still want a premium cooler this week.
