What a load of ****. Speed may be impressive but without any other musical ability it counts for nothing. Neil Peart from Rush is a true master of the drums...

This link does not really do Neil justice as he always does one of these solos in concert that will actually last for up to 9 minutes.

Dave Gray is certainly talented.Get a chance to see him live and you'll see that ;)

PS: I'd rate Jason Bowld over Peart ;)

Pft we all know Phil Collins is the best drummer. :D

Phil Collins is a damn fine drummer and I saw him many times in early Genesis.
I also saw him with his jazz fusion band and he is highly regarded by his peers as one of the best.
Its a shame he decided to stand out front and sing.

thing is the guy from berzerker is stupidly fast and stupidly tight.

also check our george kollias. from nile. he does drum tech workshops to teach.

p.s- thomas lang is a better master than neil peart.

Benny Greb, Gene Hoglan, Danny Carey, Sean Reinert and Vinnie Colaiuta.

No one can touch those 5, imo.

And dmpoole is right, Phil Collins is a great player, definitely a lot better than most people give him credit for.

not too shabby drum solo by joey jordisson..maybe not quite as good as soon guys out there but still an amazing drummer

That solo gets posted every time there is a drum solo thread here. It's a horrible, horrible, horrible boring solo. And i say that every time! Please stop posting it! :(

As for the crazy-fast drumming going on, i have no words to describe it really. It's just funny!!

And with regards to Phil Collins, i have a tape somewhere of him doing a drum duet with someone.. it's awesome!!

was the first one i could find on youtube, and it is a good solo, jyst goes a bit OTT with the stage twirling around and stuff

I'm sorry but in my opinion it really isnt. I've mentioned this before, but i have a really extreme distaste for any solo that revolves around hammering a double-bass pedal and hitting toms and the snare occasionally to form lame and repetitive rhythms. It's just plain boring.
