As the thread title says really.

Was wondering if anyone knows of possible dates for more 120hz LCD offerings?

I want to wait until a few more panels are available from other manufacturers to see if they improve upon the ViewSonic VX2268wm and Samsung SM2233RZ before I go and upgrade.

Idea is to share any information on possible new monitors that are on the horizon.

Cheers all

I wanted to know this too. Apparently Asus are bringing out a 23.6" 1080p offering with 1920x1200 I think, called the Asus VG242H.

I couldn't find a release date though, asked on here too.

In the end I just went for the Viewsonic (ordered last night), as parents were asking what I wanted for Christmas and I couln't really think of anything.

Wakayoda raises a good point, you'll need to have over 120 FPS in order to get the full effect (obviously I guess) so don;t go expecting to see much improvement in things like MW2 or what not.

If you can consistently get 60+ FPS you will benefit, otherwise it;ll be exactly the same as a 60Hz screen. (as far as I am aware at least)

Indeed a few console ports like mw2 are artificially locked to 90 fps, due to "Balance" but that's for a different thread. It does still however give you 50% more fps than a regular lcd in that scenario and 100% more on most other games if your hardware can cope. Only a few games are limited in such a way.

What you get.

More FPS: You get whatever your card can output at - 40-60-80-93-120fps etc.
Faster response rates
Greater accuracy
3D - with the use of glasses - currently limited to Nvidia gfx cards.

the most important thing there is *If your hardware can cope*. People might plug it in with some rather dated hardware only capable of, say, 40 FPS and wonder why it doesnt look any different from normal.
