A Tube worker who accused two colleagues of racism - alleging they taunted him by biting the heads off black jelly babies - has received a reported £125,000 pay-out.

Daniel Jean-Marie received the out-of-court settlement from London Underground at Watford employment tribunal.

Last year his two colleagues at Caledonian Road station, Victor Cooney and Carlo Rozza, were cleared of racial harassment at Middlesex Guildhall crown court.

Lawyers for Mr Jean-Marie, who no longer works for the company, and London Underground reached a settlement before the case was due to start.

Mr Jean-Marie's barrister Nicholas Toms said: "The claim has been resolved on terms going to be kept confidential."

In a statement at last year's trial Mr Cooney said: "One time I gave Daniel a bag of jelly babies and he called me a racist because there were too many black jelly babies in the bag."

When asked by police: "Did you say anything about cutting their heads off? Anything about black jelly babies that could have been misconstrued?" Mr Cooney replied: "No".

He added: "I made no reference to cutting jelly babies' heads off. It's nonsense". After yesterday's agreement a joint statement said: "Mr Jean-Marie and LU have successfully resolved their dispute".

I mean, really. Why are people so sensitive.....

Hmm who used to post things like this all the time (word for word pretty much), claims to have a new OCUK account and is a general muppet?

:p Doubt it's Shackley, isn't it his "mate" Alan celebrating 100 days in captivity?

He's probably lighting a candle and quietly weeping....

People like you annoy me immensely, always the first to moan about stuff yet always the last to actually do something to change it

What would you suggest? An online petition? A march at Downing Street? Printing Anti-Terrorist literature on strips of streaky bacon?
