You do realize that this comment not only makes you look like an utter plonker but also could make you appear racist/Islamaphobe

Disgusting comment. How dare you throw the "racist" card down.

Fact is that racial profiling is based upon statistical evidence. It's in no way wrong to be more cautious that someone of his background had such a suspicious device. It's an unfortunate situation but you cannot blame people for being more wary based off of this.

Additionally, I am also perfectly allowed to have the opinion that Islam is a particularly ridiculous religion, without being labelled an "Islamaphobe". I suggest you refrain from posting any such slander going forward.

How many terror attacks since 2001 were committed by muslims and resulted in fatalaties? 100% perhaps?

I think all terror attacks in last 10 years or something 90% have been Muslim, I dug that up the other day. Feel free to correct me.

Maybe people are sceptical for a reason? did anyone in all their infinite wisdom take a second to consider the amount of school shootings that have occurred has America on edge? whoever you are Muslim or not, everyone is under scrutiny.

And Islamaphobe lmao, what a joke.

This is why you can't take people seriously any more.

Because it's a military only substance and the amount of paperwork you would need to acquire the smallest amounts puts it out of reach of most people, including most public demolition firms who use nitroglycerin. C4 is RDX.

Which is why most home made bombs use ammonium nitrate or tannerite, which is itself ammonium nitrate based.

I see people in the news with AK's, M4's, body armour, grenades, all sorts. Wannabe gangsters in London have access to handguns etc. Someone getting access to C4 is probably easier than imagined.

Correct, and statistics don't lie. (unless they're incorrect of course and not collected properly)

There is a reason cops are more careful in certain areas for example that have higher crime rates. Does that make police guilty of "Locationism".

You're Locationist against my STREET BRUV!!! GONNA GET A T SHIRT AND START A HASHTAG TREND INIT

Are you retarded?

"Hmm, I think that might be a bomb, please show it to me so that it can detonate in my face".

If something is suspicious, you stay away from it!

Do you have any wire at your house????? Tbh I think it best we call special branch on you, can't be too careful.

Yet most mass killings in schools (well in general actually) in the US have been been perpetrated by white males. If we are racially stereotyping I'd suggest we should be much more worried about white males than males of middle easter origin.

That's fine. However, for me living in England (not the US), I am more concerned about the non-whites, stabbing each other in London, beheading soldiers in the street, bombing the underground trains and london buses. Ergo, I am more cautious around someone of that appearance, carrying around a briefcase stuffed with wires and a clock that's making beeping noises.

It's like an idiot safari in here.

Aren't you aware? That makes you an Islamaphobe.... same way i'd avoid a gang of black looking shady guys. Guess that makes me racist...

If I avoid chavs though, nobody will bat an eyelid.

I thought now after the investigation he is been considered at been charged with making a hoax bomb?

To all those bomb experts on gd, if this is so obviously a clock how can he be charged with making a hoax bomb?

I suspect that if it looks like a bomb to 99% of people then that constitutes making a hoax bomb.

Oh I see, if he's been charged (which he hasn't), he must be guilty of the crime? It's not like the police or overly aggressive prosecutors ever charge people of a crime they didn't commit.

99% of people don't think it looks like a bomb, just you and handful of others. Most others realise that wires in case don't make a bomb.

General Discussion - The particular part of the forum your in :p

Cheers!

Just been one of those weeks where you know... Nothing seems to go right/brain doesn't want to function as it should (except how well I'm playing on CSGO apparently!)

EDIT: I also like how so many people seem to have forgotten how many extremist incidents have been committed by white people - even in recent years. Dat cherry picking ability doe...

Does anyone not think that the fact that the President of the United States has piped up (and would have been fully briefed of EVERYTHING that happened, maybe even more than what the Police know) to say it's an embarassment and going as far as inviting him to the White House not make you think, yeah this kid was mistreated and they got it wrong. Yet you get the likes of creative and pioneer thinking it's okay for a student to be treated this way, maybe they know better than the President of the United States?

They didn't even evacuate the school, he was pulled out of class later in the day and then they handcuff (“for his safety and for the safety of the officers”) a scrawny little boy and grill him over a clock he made. Does the whole thing not sound particularly stupid?

And did I say once that I agree with it? no. All I said was this happens all the time to people and I understand (to an extent) why America is on edge, however I also know just because it's a Muslim kid it's now front page news along with backing of twitter tards.

You do realise the president is just a human being, not some omnipotent all knowing essence.

You're making him sound like Jesus.... like the dude walks around all day strolling about turning water into wine.

How should this have been handled? take a look at the clock, ok not a bomb time to go back to the station...
