It's not a non point, there's tons of stuff the popular news doesn't report, I know they can't report it all but it's the kind of stuff they probably won't report because it's that bad, to the point it's civilians that report it on leak sites.
Pretty bad reply tbh, you didn't give it a modicum of thought, assuming everyone is up to date with the world at hand or that they even read/watch/listen to news enough outside of silly childish fluff pieces and local news.

Why do we need to be up to date with this kind of incident? does it benefit us intellectually or spiritually to know that a 14 year old girl has been raped,beaten and then tortured to death? Maybe there is a place for this kind of reporting,but not in General discussion on oc'uk.
Posting this amongst light hearted threads such as are the bulk in GD is imo completely disrespectful to the Girl that was murdered.

I did give it a modicum of thought, if people want to know abou it they'll look for it, by default we know this kinds of disgusting stuff goes on, we just don't want to know it does.

The problem here is that people justify their actions when they are wrong and believe they are right.
People need justification, maybe with god, maybe if others agree with them, and because of that they are retarded.
For me, I don't need justification, i agree that some of the things i have done or that i will do / believe should be done are morally wrong at the core. However im fine with that.
Think about if something is wrong, why does that stop you from doing it? How about something small like illegal downloads, when that argument comes up people try to justify it i.e. "its not stealing its making a copy, the original is intact".. However there are people out there that agree things are wrong but still do them.
This is a fundamental problem in people.
How can I ever reform?

Answer: I knew it was wrong when I was doing it, I am fine with that.
