14 year old boy kills mum with hammer

I feel sorry for him ( of course his mother and family too), he obviously had some underlying issues and its so sad that nobody picked up on them sooner!
I think it is unfair to be wishing him death (youtube channel), although it is bloody awful what he did, it could well have been prevented :(
 
Congratulations to the soft goody 2 shoe PC brigade. Because of lack of discipline in schools and because you don't let parents discipline their own kids .. smacking ... then this is the monster you created. Also due to our soft soft justice system , this fella will be free in less than 16 years so he will have 40 years of freedom laughing at you. Well done PC people.
 
This is not about being PC! This is about a child who obviously has a mental disability and strong social issues. As hard as it is for someone sane to believe, some people have no idea that what they're doing is wrong. Although we can't know his mental state at the time, considering what he did I think it's fair to assume that it was not his intention to kill his mother. It's fairly well known that murderers who are psychopaths often have no idea of the true implications of what they've done.

To blame it on PC is ridiculous.

Edit: Also, this "monster" was not created. Just because you personally do not understand his condition, does not mean that there is no explanation for his actions, other than PC. To be honest, I really don't see why that has ANYTHING do to with what he did.

How do you know the kids mental state? However, my comment on soft school system, soft parenting and appallingly soft sentences are fact.
 
I agree that in the UK today as soon as someone does something terrible its a case of:

1. He/she must be ill
2. Had a tough childhood
3. Grew up in tough neighbourhood
4. There was "nothing to do" and they were "bored"
5. It has to be a mental issue
6. Bad parenting

Seems its no-ones fault ever. This asswipe killed his own mother, the human who carried him for 9 months. Yet he will be out in 16 years to live HIS life. 16...SIXTEEN years for this. Its like being slapped with a feather-duster. Disgusting.
 
As I said, I don't know his mental state, but in most cases like this the party in question tends to be very unstable. In the BBC news report, his father (I think) says something along the lines of, he couldn't tell where the real world ended and the fantasy world began. This is often the mentality of a killer. It's often part of being a psychopath. If you have a look at the wiki, here on it, look at the moral judgement section and a few others. Basically, his behaviour is characteristic of a psychopath.

Also, the sentence may be appropriate considering his age. At that sort of age rehabilitation is possible, and there's a high chance that he will come to understand, and possibly abhor his actions.

He has done 3 of these videos, all of them exactly the same. Showing loads of different camera angles and asking if its a good camera angle :D, hes a little odd. But I know what you mean.

That was his mum's partner.
His dad has not been mentioned at all. And i've yet to speak to him.
Don't even know how i would/could approach this............like and elephant in the room i guess. :(

It depends on how you classify mental - but I can't envisage a scenario one could murder there mother (without a seriously good reason) with a hammer & burn the body unless they had a total lack of empathy - which in my books is just another form of mental disability.

yeah, but this time corrie, so im ok with that! :)

all soaps are terrible ( i can handle the odd neighbours when the mrs has it on - its much more light hearted). eastenders and corrie and just for the brain dead.

i do think 'stenders and corrie are actually bad for the population in that people seem to think that they portray real life and not some fictionary world where everyone on a street is screwing each other, physically and metaphorically.
