I posted this in the owners thread but perhaps that's the wrong place.

I see that the PS5 does not natively support 1440p.

My monitor is the one in my sig: Dell S2716DG

Is there some sort of converter I can buy that will sit between the PS5 and my monitor and allow the PS5 to render at 4k but display at 1440p on my monitor?

I think if they were going to do it they'd have done it already with PS4 Pro. 1440P was never a television standard and has already been superseded by 4K.

You might as well just upscale from 1080P, any time you have scaling going on there will be a loss in clarity.

For PS5 you can either choose 1080p or 4K as the resolution and HDMI as the input. They've refused to support 1440p for years and Sony are not likely to change their way. Whilst I have no experience of changing a signal to or from DP, you'd be better off at getting something that can accept the native signal and not messing about with converters.

There's plenty of choice out there for 1080/120+ stuff or 4K/60.
