As always the American solution to a gun incident is more guns, just look how firearm sales shot up in Colorado after the shootings at the Batman premiere.

The attitude there will be "This wouldn't have happened if the sister and mom [sic] were armed".

Sadly they mostly get the gun debate the wrong way around, they can't seem to figure that less guns means less gun crime, they somehow think more guns equals less gun crime despite virtually every statistic proving otherwise.

Having said that, this is one incident where I don't think the murder weapon mattered. Had he not had a gun he probably would have stabbed them instead.
 
Very strange, obviously the kid wasn't in a good place (or had underlying mental health problems) and a something just sent him over the edge that day :(

And I agree with the gun argument, the US is just ridiculous sometimes, but also think that the murder weapon doesn't really matter here. Although he said he "wanted it to be quick so he used a gun," maybe if he didn't have a gun he wouldn't have gone through with it?
 
It almost sounds like his brain did not think about the consequences but saw it as valid option to solve the problem of his circumstances which probably included emotional and verbal attacks. It does seem like he regrets but may only because he feels emotional and bad about it and how it is going to affect his life, which i don't think he thought through.
