15k - Semi 'posh' car?

The only sporty cars Audi do start with RS and sometimes an just an S. Anything else and it's like people speccing a 330i Sport/Focus Zetec and trying to claim its sporty.
Or TT or R (I don't say R8 because if this R4 that someone was banging on about before actually makes it to production [which it's guessed it won't because it'd drag lots of sales from the Boxter at the price point it was going for; edit: this was wrong -- apparently it's going to share a platform with a new entry-level Porsche... massive WIN] I'd potentially buy one).

Funny story, I saw an R8 parked up outside Kwik Fit on Fountainbridge the other day, I pray that it belongs to the manager (but I doubt he would make that much money?) otherwise... jesus.

I think I would class my 2.0tdi s-line as sporty also...
I hate how the word "sporty" is banded around for cars. A 2.0 TDI S-Line is NOT sporty, no one is ever going to race one of those in motorSPORT. Although haha funny if you were being sarcastic...

To be fair its not just Audi that do it, Merc confused everyone for years with the CLK - the name gave you the impression it was a model in its own right whereas in reality it was a 2 door Coupe version of the C Class. If anything Merc were even worse with it as they also had a 3 door hatch version of the C Class called the C Class Coupe, making even less people realise that the actual C Class Coupe was the CLK :D

Ironically just as the others start off with the random-naming thing, Mercedes go back to the one-name-fits-all approach. For the first time in ages, the new C Class Coupe actually is.. a C Class Coupe.

but when is an E class not an E class ?

When its the E class coupe of course :p Since both the E class Coupe and C class coupe occupy the same market space and effectively compete with each other.

So what category does the A5 five-door fit into?

A category all of its own since there is no hatchback variant of the C class or the 3 series.

They are totally different cars, you are such a troll!

Lol, you are right and apologies. Although there is a point in there.

Going back to the op, does posh mean a 'premium brand' or a quality but not overly sporty car or something else?

When Fox has switched his sarcasm mode off, he will indeed confirm they are totally the same car, just with a different boot. Just like the A4/A5 :p

lol fox was being sarcastic.

By "posh" i very much suspect he means something he can impress his neighbours with. We all have them, too bothered about impressing people with what they have than whether they can afford it or not, let alone if the car is any good and has features / a spec they want.
