got an insurance claim to make. i'm about 6 foot-ish and a 30" inside leg, maybe a tiny bit more. this is the bike i was looking at:

i know you guys are going to say that i shouldn't get a full sus, but i'm gonna get a like for like so it's gotta b done. BUUUUT.... is this bike gonna b too small or is the frame supposed to be a little small?

I'm 6'2" with short legs and a long body, and I went for a 22" frame. It seems to fit me well - certainly not too big.

Given this, it seems to me that a 16" frame would be WAY too small for someone at 6'.

is that a full suspension or a regular?

Hahaha. Don't get that bike.

Also you should be looking at 18" frames minimum. Go try some out at your local bike shop. For £220 you will get nothing more than a toy, an extremely heavy toy at that. For a reasonable entry level hardtail you need to be spending £350 minimum, and for full sus about £600 minimum.

Regular - no suspension. I wouldn't want too much smaller even on a full suspension though - 16" would feel to me like I was riding a child's bike. I have an inside leg closer to 32" than 30" though.

Ooo, that bike looks, erm, nasty!

I'm 6'1" - my full susser is 18" (Medium) and my hardtail is either 18" or 18.5" (I can't remember which).

My girlfriends 16" full susser is like riding a kids BMX :D

it's an insurance claim, so i dunno if they'll accept a "if i pay more can i have a £300 bike?". what bike would you suggest if that were the case? it'd have to be from that site i think as well :/ bummer, i know!

Well i'd personally recommend the Specialized HardRock.

Someone might be able to suggest something different though, like a Giant.

I got the Specialized Hardrock about a month ago and it's a great bike. Mine came with discs that everyone recommended against, but they work fine for me.

Very smooth bike to ride and it also looks the danglies. I'd recommend it.

A hardrock would be ideal, but if you cant get enough just dont get a full susser, go for a HT as a FS bike at that price
1.)Be Lethal
2.)Have so much pedal bob itd feel heavier, even though it probably weighs loads already.

Im 6' and my HT is 19"

This is mine, 16.5" inch, it looks bigger in person I swear :p

You can get a 2006 GT Avalanche 3.0 for less that £200

Lighter than the Specialized HardRock and as well equiped. A lot rarer on the roads as well...if that means anything to you.

You can. My mate got his rockhopper on wheelies after an insurance payout, he just paid the difference.
