So.. i'm finally in the process of doing it.

After 6 months of my R56 falling apart, I have decided to take the plunge and get a Mini Cooper S.

I was having to go to the dealer at least twice per month (Sometimes more..) and the other day I decided that enough was enough and spat my Dummy out at the dealer and Mini UK, who have gracefully agreed to allow me 11k to spend back on another car whilst they take my Cooper back (paid 12k originally)

So now i'm looking to get one in the next couple of weeks, hoping to get a Dark Silver MCS with the Chilli Pack (so Xenons/17s and a few other gubbins) but i'm open to ideas in the colour dept (as long as it's not blue again, or Red for that matter, don't wanna look like a Cherry Bakewell!)

I feel like a 10 year old waiting for Christmas to come around :D

Hope you enjoy it.... but aren't you a bit bored with Minis yet? You must have had about 14 of them in the last year or so :D

get one of the facelift cars with the revised engine management and gearbox. 04/54 plate they are much better. 170bhp instead aswell.

Get one of the 54 onward cars with 170bhp if you can. Lots of benefits over the previous model year.

04 onwards

And West you expect the MK1 to be screwed together better? Put it this way the whole dash is held on with two bolts ;) Rattle rattle rattle.

DO NOT DO IT.

I give you another 6 months. this is all the time I lasted.

My mates just got a 55 plate Cooper S, I had a good drive yesterday and thought it was allright. Slightly disappointed with the power but that was probably my fault, expecting too much.
The most surprising thing for me though was the build quality, the dash plastics seemed poor quality and if you give them a prod there was slight play and squeeks, it just didn't seemed screwed together very well.

That huge loan keeps getting bigger doesn't it :p At least you'll have something good this time :D

Nothings changed, it will just be a straight swap, wont have to pay a penny :)

The car has had a variety of problems, ranging from the rad blowing and other related problems with the cooling system, this week they've had to order a whole new rear suspension :(

So i'm now just searching for the right car with my freind at Knights in Stafford, have also said to him I want the Facelift model beacause of the issues with the gearbox etc.

Hoping to have it in the next couple of weeks, going in Monday to get suspension done, whilst that's being done i'll be test driving and going over some options :)

Thinking along the lines of these:

Blimey, all this problem with a mini and you're straight back to buy another? They saw you coming! ;D

Can't say they've ever floated my boat, especially with the lack of power in a car which is meant to be their sports edition.

I would be extremley happy with both of the above 2 choices as for them seeing me coming I know, but the Mini is an addictive car... I guess i'm just hoping for 3rd time lucky, I think it just tends to bt their blue cars that are cursed.
