If I had 4 matching DIMMs, I'd be tempted to keep them together as a "set". RAM is dirt cheap now and unlikely to go much lower, whereas the 5850 should steadily fall in price (and keep your eye on the "Today Only" deals).
16GB is too much really, but I said that about 16KB on my first TRS-80...
