£1k Pc but went back to console

A Gtx graphics card... it cost you anything from £100 to £250 (example for average costs), and your running it at 1366x768. a cheap £10 second hand graphics card that was made in the early 90's can run that piece of cake.....

How can anyone say a pc is the same as a console graphics wise.. the most a console can give out is Native 720p... it can only upscale to 1080p, which is nowhere near as good, But Natively, just 720p... A pc in the other hand can run twice HD, 1600p, which is like HHHHHHD.....

a few good reasons why pc blows any console to stink....

Upgradeability... you can upgrade pc's to perform faster as newer hardware gets released. the closest you can get to that with a console, is buying the whole new latest console when its released.

Failure Rate...... How many pc's do you hear breaking down? ok yes pc parts do have things go wrong now and again, but thats because pc hardware is 10 times more powerful than any console hardware could ever be... N how many xbox 360s do you hear of breaking down??? STACK LOADS.....

And if something does break in a pc, you can just replace that part, where as a console, you either have to buy a whole new console, or wait for microsoft to fix it just to have it fail again 2 horus later......

Graphical Display... Well, like said, a pc is far more superior graphics compared to any console... its actually been proven that todays spec of pc's, are almost 14years in front of any console spec's...... which is a lot.....
with pc's ability of AA, AF etc etc, there is no contest..

Games.... ok, not everyone would agree here, but i personally find a lot of pc games nicer and better to play.... for instance... (not being biast here as i have owned 4 ps3's and 9 xbox 360's in the past).
From playing COD Black ops on xbox, then jump on a pc and play the same game.. pc feels more fluent and natural....
A console has a stick you move up and down, left and right.... where as pc, you use a mouse, which requires whole hand movement, and more precice co-ordinations...
Just as if you were to aim a gun in real life...

There are just a few reasons why pc is the bomb.....

I really hope you were just having a joke when you say a 1K pc is the same as an xbox, because if you actually believe that, then well.. Your an idiot...

PC always has and always will be more superior...

That bloke is just a complete tool to think a console is the same as a pc. :D.

Well he was telling the truth about the 360 only being able to produce 720p without upscaling. But the 360 has Red Dead, so the 360 is a win win :)

My #2 rig has a 1360x768 monitor, yet despite its relatively low rez,it still looks soo much better than a 360 - with BFBC2 running side by side, the PC is much much better.

Something about the OP seems very slanted to me.

My #2 rigs spec is thus.... e5300, GTX260, 2GB DDR2.....

Official xbox tells you its native 720p, with 1080p upscaling.....
I also know this because a lot of my family are IT technicians, and take a lot of time to repair / test consoles too. (hence why i am a pc lover).

and with the upgradeability.... im correct, cant see you upgrading the ram on an xbox, heck you need to use jungle flasher and copy over a dvdkey to even be able to replace the dvd drive.

with Failure rate... when do you see pc's getting Red Lights?? You dont....

Technical specifications of a xbox 360.. its gpu, is equivelent to a 8800gts card on a pc.... same sort of speeds and same processing cores etc
the ram in an xbox. 256mb of RAM, with 256mb dedicated vide buffer ram...
512mb ram???? wot computer these days still runs 512mb??? even my file server doesnt.....

and with controls feeling more natural etc.. if you re-read, that was my personal opinion......

The xbox is only 720p, it does only upscale to 1080p, which looks pretty bad sometimes. You are better off playing the xbox in 720p mode for a lot of games, re5 springs to mind.
 
I wonder why people cant discuss this sort of topic without ridiculous fanboy bias? They get very protective if you dont think the choice they made is the best.

Anyway I have an Xbox 360, a Playstation 3 and a gaming PC. The PC is much better. The end. No bias, no fanboy rubbish.

Hell I love my 360 because of red dead (well actually I sold mine and play it on my son's console). But that does not change the fact it is only 720p native. Hell the PS3 version of red dead is SUB HD. lol

You said the max that consoles can do is 720p. That's wrong, the PS3 has several games that are rendered and displayed up to 1080p.

Consoles don't need to be upgradeable (aside from storage), the entire point is to ensure consistent performance across the platform. The N64 tried to do memory upgrades, unsurprisingly nobody has tried since.

No you don't, because it's rarely that simple with a PC. I've owned various consoles and none of them have failed or caused any problems whatsoever, the same cannot be said for the PCs I've had over the past 10 years. For all the benefits PC gaming has, reliability is definitely not one of them.

Of course PCs are 'years ahead', we're years ahead of the release dates of the consoles themselves. Comparing console specs to a PC is completely stupid, so I'm not surprised in the least that you've done that.
 
Errr TheVoice, we are talking about the xbox 360 not the ps3, as per the OP. no one said anything about the PS3 apart from me and red dead I don't think.

PC's failure rate is a lot less then any console.

Also he said you can't upgrade a console to make it better. So even though they don't need upgrading, it also means they stay a long way behind hardware wise.

So yes no xbox game is native 1080p they are 720p. The xbox can only upscale, and on a lot of games does a poor job. Back in the day the xbox was a very good piece of kit, but today it is showing it's age.
