1st Gen iphone - headphones

Hi Apple chaps,

Just got a 2nd hand first gen iphone for Mrs Wolvers. Needless to say I've earned some massive brownie points for this one!

Unfortunately it didn't come with the headphones, which are pants anyway, so we need to get some good ones that fit into that recessed 3mm jack. Can anyone recommend us some that sound pretty good around the 20-30 quid mark?

I use a pair of Sony in ears and cut the jack surround with a stanley knife so it fitted. Sanded it down so it looks flush.

Well she hasn't got any at all so was hoping to buy some without having to mod them. I'm not letting her do that to my sennheisers! :eek:

as for recommending headphones I'd be useless at that

Is that the only option then? I can't believe that no one's made a set with that slim connector.

I'll happily get an adaptor though if there's nothing else.

I have the Sony MDR-EX71, it comes with a 1 metre extrension cable. I just cut this cable.

Good headphones and have lasted me years.

If you want a good pair, get some Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro's

I got the v-Moda Vibe Earphone, from Apple store. Excellent earphones, great sounds from them.
It has the jack that is the correct size for the 1st gen iPhone, i've got the 2nd gen iPhone now and they fit nicely to that too.

I've got an adapter for the 1st gen iPhone to earphones.

Those look a little pricey for her, but i found the V-Moda Bass Frequency Headphones are 20 quid and look like the plug might fit.
