Im pretty happy with my mk1 2004 focus, 1.6 lx was £2500 with 48k on the clock gets me around 39mpg combined, most my trips are around 20 mile round trips of normal roads.

I'm actually worried you're in the same town as me...

a) i've never seen an XR3i here
b) not the car for the OP.... blatently
c) give it a rest, it'd never beat a 335i and 152mph was quite literally the top speed for the RS1800 gearbox.
d) shall we give it a run against my bike? ;)

The car is currently parked at my grandads lockup in Little Paxton, as it needs a new Lambda Sensor from waaaay back when tesco were dishing out that junky silicone filled fuel...
It starts up and runs, but i just have no want for it anymore, ive since grown up with kids....

and Reevsy.. If its an rs1800 engine, RS TURBO. therefor it has a turbo....

and to whoever said about boasting about its speed.. I used to take it down Santa-Pod 1/4 mile strip.... Thats how i know the speeds its capable of..

and to whoever said about their car beating it.. Dude, this is a 21 year old car.. things have progressed a lot since then, but i can guarantee your bike couldnt chuck out 3 and half foot flames from the pipe all due to very high compression and big lobe cams.... :D

erm gamerdude the rs1800 wasnt turbocharged i'm afraid, it was a 130 bhp n/a zetec lump found in mk3 fiestas, a poor replacement for the FRST imo unless your talking about mk2 escorts in which case you obviously have very deep pockets,

you do realise that to be hitting 152mph down the pod you would be running something pretty special, to give you an impression of the power required for a 150+mph terminal speed I remember Andy Forrest needing something along the lines of 550 bhp in his scoob to hit that kinda speed.

and jump to conclusions again!!!!
Where did i say in any part of my message that it did 150 down the pod?
I never.. i simply said that i know what speeds its capable of due to taking it there.. But i never said i did 150 down a 1/4 straight...... Stop jumping to conclusions...

And im sorry, but yes it is.. Well my rs1800 is... T34 turbo, i know that because i have had it off a couple of times to service it. And being a qualified car mechanic, i know i havent got myself mixed up here...
And why else would i have fitted an electronic boost controller on my dash board if it doesnt have a turbo?? It is also set to 11 psi boost before dumping.. so yepp, im sorry but YES IT HAS GOT A TURBO...
and yes, the engine was ripped out of a Mk2 escort 1800 mexico, which was my dads Shelf queen...

And hmm something special.. High rise cams, forged pistons, lightened crank shaft, lightened and balanced flywheel... You telling me that isnt special??? it revs like the clappers.. my rev guage on the dash goes to 7k, and it easily off's the guage without hitting tops... I havent got an exact reading, as it hasnt been dyno'd for years. but when it was dyno'd, it was punching out roughly 390 - 422 bhp and (if i can remember correctly), something like 10 and half K revs.... Which is a damn sight lot more than half of your £8k cars can do..... and we are talking about a 20+ year old car with a 15+ year old engine in it... and it would still give half of you a good run for your money to this day..

Me and my dad built her in 1998, my dad was a test engineer for ford, and regularly got the job role of race tuning cosworth engines for ford sierra's, all ready for the track. So he knew what he was doing with it... Sadly my dad died 2 years ago, hence why the car is now mine...

So dont be haters when you know **** all about it..

Your telling me you changed your zetec engine from your rs1800 to a crossflow from a mk2 escort, and then turbo'd it. lol
