I have replaced my 40GB in my PS3 and have hooked the old 40GB 2.5" Hitachi unit up to my PC.

It appears in the BIOS and when first hooked up Vista correctly recognised it, installed the necessary drivers and said it was ready to use.

Unfortunately I can't find it! It doesn't appear in Computer Explorer! I would have thought it would have taken drive letter D. But that is still my DVD drive. I also then have 4 memory card slots which each report correctly as F,G H and I drives!

What have I done wrong!?

Nothing probably. Right click on My Computer and pick Manage, then go into Disk Management, the drive should appear in there (if it's plugged in). The PS3 may use a filesystem which is not recognised by the PC so you'll probably have to delete any partitions which are on the disk and re-create them as NTFS volumes.

Just make sure you know which drive is which before doing anything drastic.
