2 holed pistons and destroyed bores: With pics!

You know what, I can't be arsed with the attitude of these forums to what I like to do in my personal time.

I spend my time posting something like this in the hope people will enjoy reading it, not just leaving a one word sarky reply!

Well I appreciate threads like this because I used to work in a garage many years ago as a young lad still wet behind the ears as it were. Nowadays I dont even own a car and I havent been near an engine bay for eons. Threads like this are great, well great in the way things are pulled apart and rebuilt but not great for the o/p as it costs money.

Knackered injectors or incorrect injection timing can cause burnt piston crowns, or it's possible the rings were broken or trapped by a previous event and the leaking of combustion gasses has eroded the edge of the piston crown. Has it ever been overheated, inadvertently filled with petrol or hydrolocked?

that's one dead diesel!

And I've had no problems with my T series anyway (unless driver inflicted) :p

T series you say?

I enjoy reading your threads, as I'm sure many others do.

Usually I don't comment on them, as I have little/nothing to add as I can't advise you since I'm a mechanical noob. I'm sure many others share this view.

:)

what an odd one.

looking at the pistons youd assume it was foreign object damage but toward the top of the piston it looks melted

safe to say that its CODE F though
