Easy ones for you

1) When I use the clone tool or spot healing tool the source point keeps following my mouse. Any way i can make it static so that i can clone a specific surface only?

2) How can I delete the entire history without going to the history panel?
Sometimes hilighting everything in there and deleting doesnt work and i have to do it one by one

1) thanks but it doesn't seem to stay still all the time it just goes back at the end of the click

2) Because i often times mess up and its a drag to delete them one by one

if you want it to remain completely still the only thing you can do is make a custom pattern.

As for the history I think you're meaning that you want to use the history to undo changes rather than delete the history itself? If so I've never had any problem jumping back 1, 2 or however many steps. If you are having trouble you could always create snapshots though -there's a button in the history pallet to do it.

can you explain what a custom pattern would do?

Also when I use the T tool to write something with which key i release my cursor from it once am done? So far I have to go back to the tool bar and click on something and its a bit irritating. Any keybord shortcut?
