Thats it. My holiday has ended. :( Spent 2 weeks relaxing and generaly doing nothing much. The first week me and the missus did the garden. It was just a bomb site and now all looking good. I even laid the turf for the first time in my life.:D

Spent the second week (and part of the first) watching the world cup on my projector. All in all it has been a good time off work.

Got a call from work today. A member of staff cant work tomorrow so looks like ill be setting my department up all on my own. What a great start to going back to work. That means no break from 6am till 11:30am for me.

Gonna start dishing out discaplinarys (sp) when I see him next:mad:

Heres a pic of my garden

Why, thank you very much..:) All it was before was one big mass of soil and rubble. Took 4 days to complete.

Still doesnt alter the fact that im up poo creek with out a paddle in the morning.

Well at least I can come home tomorrow afternoon and relax in the garden..with a cold beer.

Nice garden. I couldn't have done the lawn. :o Where do you work?

Large supermarket chain that has various departments like FISH BAR, salad bar, butchery etc. (not sure if I can say the name of the work place) yellow and black is the colour of the company with a big M.

Setting up the fish bar eh. Make sure theres plenty of snapper on there and plenty of terrance the turbet :D

You got it in one.. I can set it all up in one and a half hours so no problems there. Just I have to do everything else aswell up to 11:30 all on my own. Inc serving customers, filleting Salmon and filling up the counters. Its a pain on your won.. Just hope I can get some help... Being a manager I should. I`ll just argue the point across.

"ohh man.. stomach.. in agony.. I think.. I can make it.. if I really try. Ohhh my ovaries! No.. can't do it.. sorry boss.. must seek medical attention.."

*hangs up phone*

*projector hums into life*

Wanna swap. Im going to look for a new job big time .. I just cant be bothered with the crap staff. slightest sniffle and they call in sick.

Unfortunately as long as you work in retail "sickies" are always going to be a problem.

People working on minimum wage (or near)/ poor hours/ being dumped on by middle management** because they get dumped on by upper management in turn.....etc. etc.

Doesn't go to build up a good work ethic in my opinion. Plus I here the big M isn't the best company to work for either.....and in retail that's saying something!

** NOT aimed at you in any shape or form, just a generalisation.

Not really - I hate fish and 'M' can't deal with the stench coming off the fishbar :( I'm on tills and the fishbar is by the warehouse door and I can smell it from there :/

Oh and as for

Unbelievably true - and 'M' management like to dump on the next rank down A LOT :(

Nice garden mate.Me and the rest of the family got our garden done while we were all off. Was worth it in the end.

I am sooo glad i didnt get a job in the big M after some of the stories ive heard. Although the big evil orange H isnt that much better.....one part time guy(me) running a department for two days a week......and then two part times running the show all weekend. Oh how good my manager is at running the place, lets just give the full timers holidays at the same time.....oh and a few of the part timers of the same department. Roll on payday though :D

I was left with 6 bikes to build and to serve customers all day and fix a guys gears on the spot and a few on the spot repairs........and told to only take a 30 minute break instead of an hour :o I'll get that back in random.....going through the back for a drink moments..... ;)
