I have currently 4 Gb of RAM, Crucial Ballistix 8500C, but 4 x 1Gb.

Is 2 x 2 GB better to have and would it improve my overclock ?

I have heard it would stress my mem controller using the 4 x 1 ??

Anyone have experience of this ?

I know there is a thread already open on this, but having read it, it is all opinions..I want some facts and figures...reviews? Testing results in real world.
Overclock results.

I run 4 x 1Gb Corsair Dominator PC-6400 at 2.0 volts at 900Mhz with 4-4-4-12 timings on a 680i

Memory controller has put up with it for a year so far.

smaller modules have lower latancies than bigger modules.

All ram is different, you wont find any facts and figures about overclocking potential that's 100% accurate.

I would say, it wouldnt improve your overclock and would be a waist of money.

Use the other thread, instead of creating new ones with the same question...
