2 x 7800 GTX 256mb or 7900 GTX 512mb

I have already got 2 x 7800 GTX, just wondering if I should sell these and get 1 7900 or is this a stupid idea.

Yep, that'd be a pretty stupid thing to do....unless you sold your 7800gtxs for an awful lot. If you could sell them for a lot you might be able to make a small downgrade but be 100 quid or more better off.

Personally though i'd stick with them for the time being.

I only game at 1024x768 or whatever the res is, so was thinking I could sell them and get just one card, make me a bit of cash.

As said, no point changing 2x 7800GTX 256MB cards, unless you dont like the extra heat & noise they generate & want to change for these type of reasons. Also if you can sell them for a decent price, then i would advise to go for one of the 2 top performing cards, either the 7900GTX or the equally well performing but cheaper X1900XTX.

At that res either the X1900XTX or 7900GTX will do everything you want.

I would say if you use 1024x768 and you can sell both cards for more than the cost of 7900, do it.

A stupid thing to do , theres plenty of ppl on here gone from 2xGTX's to the 1x x1900, and even 2x512mb GTX's to 1x x1900, and they aint complaining, so going form them to a 7900 would be the same.
