Hi Guys,

Quick Question, would i be better off getting 2 x Kingston V Series 64GB drives and running them in Raid, as opposed to getting 1 x Intel X-25M 80gb.

Price wise they will be roughly the same, although with the kingston setup i would probably have about 40gb more space. But would the kingston setup be faster because of the RAID? Space is not really an issue as I think either of the 2 options should provide enough for my OS and programs.

This shall be used for my boot drive, using Windows 7.

Thanks in Advance

I was left with same decision, ended up going for the Intel X-25M 80GB, storage capacity isnt really going to be an issue, and the thought of the speed deteriating over time on the RAID due to lack of support for TRIM (at the moment) reinforced my decision.

Should be turning up today :).

the 64Gb kingstons are not very good - where as the intel is the best - easy decision.
If you ment 2x40Gb kingston's (and you'll be lucky to find one) it beats the intel

Thanks for the replies guys, I think in the end I will just go for the 80gb Intel drive as it will be less hassle. And I dont think 2 x 40gb will make a massivE difference, and the fact that thy hard to find

I think I'm gonna take the plunge during the week and order a single 80gb intel. Would be greAt to test it as I intend to get th 160 gb one when I finally get round to buying a MacBook pro.

Good choice.

Until the next gen is released (Intel G3, Vertex 2, M300's etc) The Intel G2 drives represent best value.
