£20 to start a business

Last year I made a simple android app. The dev software was free, the phone I already had, and the registration for the android market was ~£20. Ended up making £1k from it. So i'd do the same but this time put the money into making better apps, rather then what I actually did which was buy some mods for my car.

A couple of poker pros have got started with a similar amount. All it takes is the patience of a saint, the ability to react quickly mentally and have a healthy disrespect for money. I have none of these qualities.

True, though for nearly all players, including very good ones, variance will almost certainly kill such a small bankroll.

I personally would just do handyman jobs around the village/town. That can make you a couple of hundred in a week, once I'd built up 1k I would sell a custom pc build and make maybe £50 profit from it (using the 1k to buy the parts) I would keep doing that, everytime I get another few hundred I would start posting different builds, keep expanding until I have 20 different builds rocking, since the person is paying slightly more for the parts and your labor you make back all the money you spent on parts and a bit extra so its hard to lose money in a sense.

But anyway that prolly wouldnt work in the buissness world but meh.

Start a cleaning business, advertise in free places such local chartity shops, notice boards etc. Depending on where you live you can get up to 18+ an hour Far from glamourous and can be a tough job on occasion.

even on £10 SNGs I have had swings of £500

Ouch!

Do you follow a system or particular method? Iirc, like me you appreciate the works of Sklansky. I bought Sklansky's 'The Theory of Poker' (though I wished I'd have gone for his book just on holdem), but a fair bit of it seems to be going over my head.

Do you use software like HM or Pokertracker? Apparently these are essential for grinding the microstakes / low value games.

Sklansky is more suited to cash games though the basics are there for all, the Moshman books cover SNG strategy better

I will be brutal SNG stategy has little to do with real poker, it is all about equity with the basic startegy being fold almost everything early and push in position later unless you have a good reason not to

tbh I play online for a hobby and prob only break even due to playing when ****ed however my live MTT ROI is over 100%

I dont use any tracking SW
