*****20% VAT CASH BACK OFFER*****

So this is a rebate that needs to be claimed back from MSI, and will not be visible in the checkout? If so, I'm always wary about these because of the hassle, the need to send things via recorded delivery, and the time delay between purchase and refund.

IMO if MSI have a good deal to offer through a reseller, then it should be an instant discount through the checkout process. Anyway, I'll keep an eye on this, as the GD65 and GD55 are the P67 boards I'm most interested in.

I agree but in this case MSI seem to have a good relationship with OCUK. I can't see it being too much trouble and expect these to sell well :)

If someone got over excited at seeing the new i5's on sale and also added in a non-MSI motherboard in the rush before realising the VAt back offer but actually wanted to change his order to include a MSI mobo instead, how would one go about getting it changed??

So what's the deal with MSI boards now, are they more reliable? Me and my dad have been through a total of 5 MSI boards over about 5 years as they just become unstable and end up dying, ever since the last one went I've stuck with Gigabyte/Asus... but this offer is very nice and will make upgrading to SB a bit cheaper so it's a dodgey decision.

I myself have used 6 different x58 boards. 2x EVGA (e759, E760), 2x ASUS board (P6T Deluxe v2 and the R2E), 1x Gigabyte UD5 and an MSI Big Bang XPower. Out of all of those boards the Asus hit top of reliability as did the MSI. Performance wise the EVGA boards, R2E and MSI were on top. As for price/value, the MSI has come top.

All I can say is that MSI are doing something very right with these boards, it's now about time that they started to be recognised for it.

Have had a short dabble with the GD65 and I must say that out of all the boards I jaw had a play with in the P67 range it is my personal favourite as it's performance ia up there with the best but price point keeps it very competitive. Now even more so with this rebate offer :)

I bought an MSI 975x PUE at core 2 launch. It ran fine @400fsb for the 3 years I had it before I sold it to a friend. Its still going today.
I'd buy another MSI board.
HMMM states a rrp of £139.99!

1.1) This mail-in rebate offer is valid only on purchases of the MSI P67A-GD65 made during the promotion period of January 9th to January 17th 2011 inclusive. The date on the original invoice must clearly state the purchase date.

if i ordered last night am i still eligible for the rebate?

2.1) To qualify for this rebate, the end user must be a UK resident and the purchase made from a UK registered company.

so you have to be a company to purchase this and get the rebate? or is this talking about you guys.

Assuming OcUK, but want to be sure!

I think it means it has to be purchased from a UK company. IE if I bought a dozen of these motherboards and sold them on, the people who purchased them from me could not apply for the rebate beacuse I am not a "UK registered company".

Seems a bit redundent since this is an Overclocks.co.uk exclusive?

I am very tempted to take up this deal. So how much IS the motherboard with rebate and the "notvatrise" offer?

is it a problem if i order today ?

only i would hate to come a crop during the claim to be told only order from the 9th .

don't order till the 9th if you want your 20% tax rebate on the board ;)

Good question as if I don't now qualify having
ordered last night, based on the offer "ending on the 17th" and not seeing any start date specified, I'll have to return under DSR and re-order. This would be a bit daft for all concerned.

Can someone from OCUK confirm if there is any other way around this?
