£200 - £300 DVD/Home Theatre

Mate in work has asked about getting a set of speakers and dvd player the all in one home cinema jobbies, he is looking to spend upto £300 any suggestion?

the best thing to do is to get a cheap DVD player i bought one from ASDA ages ago and it has 5.1 inputs/coaxial/optical and it still works and bought some very nice Bang & Olufsen speakers to go with it.

i think bang & olufsen speakers are really nice quality/sound to get.

what type of sound does he want also 5.1, 7.1?
