2000MHz RAM nit running on 1600MHz...

:confused::confused:

No. I am not saying anything about memory multipliers. I am stating that I have never seen a Phenom II 965 that can run memory at DDR2000. I don't recall having ever seen anyone doing it online, even with super cooling such as phase or LN2.

When I try to OC my PC, I will up FSB and see if it goes on 1866, as it is max what mine MOBO can get from RAM...

And not sure if there are any MOBO's that can offer it for this CPU....

And shame that it is not possible anyhow( as you said no one ever tried it ;) )

:)

I fell into that trap as well, the phenom 965s memory controller just cant handle it :( Still the memory was pretty good value so its ok.Play around with your latencies as well if you have time, might be able to squeeze a bit of extra performance from the memory controller.

Wonder if the the new six core phenoms can do it though?

Yes it can.

I have G-Skill Flare 2 x 4GB F3-16000CL8D-BGBFLS running at 8-9-824 @ 1.65volts 2000MHz on my board.

If I had a 965 and some DDR2000 memory, I'd aim for 1333 and the absolute tightest timings I could get out of them. Most like CAS6 and then work the frequency up from there.
