Could quite possibly be a good race if the Renault's struggle there like they have done in the past.
I'd even go as far as to tip Coulthard being 'Ferrari' powered into some big points this weekend...

Is it just me that has already lost interest in F1 this season? :(
It's not the best season ever, usually you know the winner after 5 laps.
Normally I watch every single race, lap, pre build up, post race stuff etc but this year I'm just not interested.

Role on 2008 :)

A few background decisions have really destroyed this season, it could have been much closer.

In saying that, there are still plenty of races left for things to happen :).

Usual test session from the third drivers and limited running from the racers. Very unusual to see MS that far up the times this early - laying down a marker perhaps?

Very limited running from the main drivers but then the drag round the section is the hardest section of any track on the engines, so they will be taking things easy.

Now this is not a typo as far as I'm aware - Micheal Schumacher is being sandwiched by a pair of MF1s  I can handle Mondini being up there because he's on the unrestricted Friday engine but Montiero? Has last year's podium finish gone to his head?

Scouting for sponsors maybe? It's certainly odd, and probably one of the few times we'll see the MF1s that high up the order this weekend :)

Looking at the sector times I think they've wound the wings up. In sector 2 they're 2nd & 3rd behind Davidson. Montiero is almost the slowest out there in the speed trap, almost 15kph down on the best.

I'm a die hard F1 fan, will be until i (or f1 :p) snuffs it, but i'm so bored with F1 this season. MotoGP is far more entertaining imo. Good title battle going on there, great scraps, its just better to watch, albeit half the race time of f1.

I demand qualifying take place! I want to see what's going on with the Midlands.

Hopefully this will be a good weekend for Mclaren, I'm getting tired by their bad luck, particularly Montoya's! :(

Interesting......

We hear from well placed and reliable sources, that Flavio Briatore is currently brokering a deal which will not only provide Red Bull with Renault engines for 2007, but will also fulfil the Austrian team's driver line up.

We understand the Italian is currently negotiating a deal with will see Red Bull receive Renault powerplants next season - without doubt, the most coveted engines in Formula One at present.

However, the deal, which has not yet been concluded, will see both Mark Webber and Heikki Kovalainen join the Milton Keynes-based outfit, which will be bad news for current incumbents David Coulthard and Christian Klien, whose future was in doubt anyway. Kovalainen would join on a 'race only' basis, as he would continue to test for the French team.

We also hear that Toro Rosso, which will use the Ferrari engines originally intended for Red Bull, will retain both Tonio Liuzzi and Scott Speed.
Although stressing that the deal has "not been inked", our sources inform us that it is "progressing nicely", which would indicate that the deal which will see Kimi Raikkonen at Renault has been concluded, though not officially confirmed.

There has been much speculation that the Finn would move to Ferrari, and that a deal was already in place. However, as Pitpass has previously reported, this was dependent on Michael Schumacher retiring and leaving a vacancy within the Maranello outfit. We understand that a Schumacher/Raikkonen line-up was never on the cards.

Therefore we can assume that with Kovalainen, and Webber, heading to Red Bull, Raikkonen is definitely in at Renault, and Michael Schumacher remains at Ferrari.

From the looks of things, I guess it's just my brother in law, couple of friends and I that are still interested?? We watch it all without fail and am loving this season. Maybe I'm biased ;)

For the record, Flibster won't be doing anymore F1 threads. Which is a shame, but we should respect it.

:(

Did he give a reason?

The F1 threads were great, gave a whole new level to the sport that you don't usually here about. Its sad to see them go.
