Wanted to make a thread to keep all the gossip relating to christmas functions this year :D

There's always something juicy that happens, so you must spill the beans. There's nothing like a bit of Christmas gossip.

This year will be fun for me. I've 'burnt bridges' with two of the women I work with in the last year, both are attending our do on Friday. Thus I'll be playing a defensive role this year, I think.

Last year our xmas do broke up a 10 year marriage. The one before that got someone fired (strong drunken words of wisdom/abuse to the head of HR is not a great idea). I love it, in a curel sadistic 'sit on the sidelines and watch people explode' kinda way :D

Nothing for us this year as they cannot warrant the expense. Though last year I got together with the kiwi temp that was working for us.

Instead of the usual night of drunken antics, due to budget constraints, We're instead going down the pub thursday lunchtime having our food paid for by the boss and £150 behind the bar for booze all in all Xmas isn't cancelled!

Awh do the guys in your office not try and sort something?

We don't have one paid by the company, we all shelled out £30 each or something to organise one.

Last year I got food poisoning from the resteraunt, so this year we're going back there, wooo.

Hoping for more merriment this year

A few years ago a guy in our office declared his undying love for a woman he worked with..... Must have woke up the next morning with the fear... he never came back!

No christmas party this year, work spending bugger all

Been to a few now, and skipped it this year. Same place as last year, and it ends up with people talking about work, and then getting drunk till they puke.

I prefer to go out with real mates rather than the people at work who (mostly) I just put up with rather than actually like.

As usual we have a quiet dinner in an average hotel. The directors all sit on their own table away from the people that make them money, which is probably for the best given the wine.

I was the only person not to turn up in a suit and got told off by one of the directors' wife, who earns more then me for turning up one afternoon a week to do some accounting.

Just in a bar tonight I think, I'm not going though, girlfriend has been ill with mumps and haven't been able to see her just incase I get it, she wants a night in so that's what is happening.

Whipped!
