2009 unibody macbook upgrades..

Any ssd will be ok, you won't get sata 3 speeds but all sata 3 drives are backwards compatible (I have a c300 256gig in my 09 unibody). The trim enabler for snow leopard works in lion too which I recommend.

According to the wikipedia if you have the early 09 model (small removable battery) only the 2.66ghz and faster models can take 8gig. If you have the later 09 one (the same as me) all can take 8gig.

Hope that helps

Cheers, so if it says 2.66Ghz in about my mac it can take 8gb? I think mine does have the small battery

Yeah that should be correct. Chances are they did a silent chip set revision to enable 8gig anyway for the lower speed ones (have done with one or two other models). Just make sure the ram you get does the rated speed and is the right ddr (I think all the unibodys use ddr3 but its worth a double check in your system profiler).
