2011 car plans....

Sell focus
Replace with Z4M coupe, Cayman S or exige S

Should have finance ready by March/April, but need to do quite a bit of test driving. Think the exige S would be great fun, but a bit too focussed. I only do about 3k miles a year and live next to my workplace, so I need to see what level of comfort I can accept.

You'll probably find that the comfort of the Exige is better than expected. Though the suspension is firm it isn't crashy or harsh. Main problem is the noise, both from the engine and suspension.

my plans - laugh as you may are:

buy a kit car to build a module at a time with a bike engine.
buy a crosser (looking at 125cc 2 stroke) that i can convert to road legal for daytime use.
trackday and possibly race.
possibly buy a quad.

but hey... they're all plans and we know what happens there lol....:D:o

my y reg focus will do for now. gonna get a damaged section (bought as cat b) resprayed to match and clean it and thats about it lol.

My plans are ever-changing, so as it stands:

General tidy up - mainly cosmetic
Replace wheels with 15" - makes buying tyres a lot cheaper..
Replace front bumper, as mine's knackered.
Replace hood.

Drive it :)

Edit: Trackday too.

I'm buying something new (although likely not brand new, just new to me). Although I've been saying that for a good while, I'll have a decent chunk of money coming my way in March and the Starlet's rattles and windy windows are starting to get to me.

I've still no idea what I'm getting, mind. Part of me wants a fiesta st, part of me is sensible and keeps saying "derv, derv, derv". The part of me that thinks I'm not 6'4 is saying MX-5, but the physical top of my head is saying "Remember Drew's soft top vs your head?"

Maybe I'll go half way and get the Zetec S diesel.

* Decisions * :(

The comfort is absolutely fine, even on Bristol's potholed roads. The main problem is lack of space which makes popping to ASDA for some shopping difficult.

Try driving around this month and not using your back seats or the boot to get a feel for how it would be :) you'll be surprised just how much you might need to chuck a rucksack in the boot or something.

Replace the Alfa with a 206 GTi... :D

Seriously, no idea. Couple of thoughts floating about in my head over the past few months, based around selling the Alfa just before Summer, depending on what's around for sale locally. What I do need to do definitely is replace the front ARB this month. Beyond that...hmm.

All these people saving hard for exotic looking cars. Sometimes I wish I was a tad less fussy :(

No you don't, a crease in the leather is just too much to bear :p

Although it does mean your cars are mint/well looked after :)

325D is due to be changed May 2012 so no plans to do anything this year, it's doing a fantastic job (snow troubles aside).

I was planning to sell my underpowered 04 Seat Ibiza this year and get something a little more interesting. However, my priorities have had to change which means I'll be keeping it for another year. Apart from a new set of tyres I don't have anything planned.

Was planning on a 911 and I even went to see a few, but soon realised it was a ridiculous idea (for now) as a contractor with no job security considering all the running costs and/or possible bills. Plus I went halfs with my sister on a mortgage for my brother whislt he does his PHD so that's another expense... Now I have no idea what to do

Depending on how mod friendly my new insurer is come February, maybe get around to putting the Blitz SSBC boost controller I bought for cheap last year into the Cefiro

In any case, I plan to fit my old car PC to it. Shouldn't take too long as most of the work is already in place. It's just been too cold and there has been a lack of enthusiasm.

Might wash the company Mondeo at some point, but probably not.

Hoping to chop the Civic in by my 30th in April, half of me is saying go "sensible" and get a Focus ST, the other half is saying wait till spring, get a boxster/mx5/z4 for the summer (gf has he mgf so wouldn't want 2 2 seaters for long) and see about changing again come winter.

(Don't say a word Fox, Tim, etc.. :p)

Maybe **** a grand or two up the wall on some new wheels for the Coupe, but that'll be about all that needs doing on the Z3. Apart from a new radiator fan..

Volvo: replace the PS pump, maybe flog it and replace it with a smelly diesel, but I can't really see any long-term savings in this. If anything, it's a waste of money.
