Bought both of these cards in 2017 from OCUK and GAVE the 1030 away to a Charity rebuilder as I considered it "past its time"!

Now have both "reappeared" on OCUK site as "good" GPUs have disappeared.

Asus GeForce GTX 1050Ti Phoenix 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card WAS £124.99; NOW £200

Asus GeForce GT 1030 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card WAS 2017 - £57.49; NOW £90

PC COMPONENT WORLDS GONE MAD

Inflation has also gone mad in the last 3 - 4 years with all the "quantatative easing" etc. I hear the dollar lost over 18% just since October 2020 ...

But that doesn't excuse selling "obsolete" GPUs?
(PS typo - should say "the 1050" not "10e 1050" - finger trouble)

BUT who is demanding a GT 1030 - most CPU with graphics included chips have better performance?

I had to dig out the relic that is the 8400 GS(launched in 2007) to replace another old card that recently died just so i can run a 1080p display output from the HTPC in the living room.Thankfully it works with a HDMI adapter.

When the GPU madness ends hopefully in H2 2021, then the HTPC can have the card from my main rig.

I am still using the 1050Ti in one PC but its pretty borderline in performance terms.
A lot of Ryzens are sold without IGP and until rocket lake launches, a GT 1030 still smokes the Intel IGP. The low-end was crap before the new mining craze, but 1050 Ti for £200 does take the biscuit.

I paid £199 for my gtx 970 in either 2014 or 2015, and today they are going for up to £180 on ebay. I really missed the boat on upgrading. 10xx cards didn't seem necessary at the time as the 970 still handled everything; 20xx cards were over priced and didn't offer better performance per pound than 10xx and finally when 30xx came out we had Brexit and a pandemic, so even though they make sense at RRP prices, no one can or is selling them at that price. As such I'm stuck with my 970 as the cost of a worthwhile upgrade, if i can find one at all, is £500+ (6 years later!).

NB: Also, from the specs in my signature, you can see I've not posted in a while.
