Is the increase in resolution really worth the extra money and would the `average` gamer notice any difference. I appreciate the difference in screen size but then again I wont be using my machine from the other side of the room!

I had a 22" samsung 226bw + dell 24" 2407wfp alongside each other on the same desk for a month or so. My thoughts on this are...

*The size difference is quite a lot but 22" is still pretty big
*I found both screen's native res's fine for that size of screen and if anything the extra res was a hinderence as lower fps at native resolution etc
*The dell 24" makes me wanna puke on first person shooters :p
*Yet the dell has far more "wow factor"
*Samsung 22" was extremely livable with until i saw the dell which generally day to day is a lot nicer for browsing etc.
*The 22" screens are still great value for money imo, especially the 226bw or similar.
*If i hadnt seen a dell 24" i'd be more than happy with the far cheaper 22" screens
*If your even remotely into first person shooters and you need an LCD, it has to be a 226bw.
*dell 2407wfp is v good for browsing!

Hope this helps!

I dont like the higher delay on the current 24" panels, we know each manu can claim 8ms (example) and all be different as there is no set way to measure it like on the Rise or Fall of Pixel or other, some manu's 8ms have been found to be as high as 20ms.
